On the mixer is a scale that weighs all the ingredients. Each cow group has a formulated ration that is put on a computer. From the computer we download that ration into this scale head. The scale head then tells the feeder which ingredient to add, which order to add the ingredients, how much to add and then records how much of each ingredient was actually added. This allows us to keep track of feed supplies and supply our cows with the most precise ration possible. |

The mixer is pulled by another tractor which supplies power to mix the feed, haul the feed to the barns and then deliver the feed to the cows.
