This is the main part of the milking parlor.  We have a double 20 herringbone parlor.  The empty space at the front of the parlor is so we can expand the parlor to a double 28. 

This is a closer look at the milking parlor.  Notice how the milk lines from the milking units run into  a port in the side of the wall under the cow deck...

These lines run down the portals into a basement that is under the operator’s floor.  These lines run into a milk meter shown here.  The meter weighs the milk and takes conductivity measurements of the milk.  These records help us keep track of animal health.  The meter then dumps the milk into the main stainless steel milk line

Here is an overall view of the subway that is under the operator’s pit.  This keeps all the meters and electronics out of the damp and abusive environment of the milking parlor pit.  It also makes maintenance of equipment a lot easier because you can work on equipment without getting in the way of the milking process.
