UPDATED PHOTOS AND LATESTE DEVELOPMENTS 9/27

Construction continues but there is light at the end of the tunnel.  Construction details continue and were are expecting to begin milking in our new dairy facility by October 30.  Everyone (including cows) are ready to make the move.  Overcrowding, and a particularly hot, dry summer have taken its toll on everyone.  Construction through the summer progressed rapidly (there certainly wasn’t any rain to hold things up) and now were are left with small details which seem to take the most time.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS  5/22

Our expansion project has moved into high gear.  Back in the beginning of April we recieved our final permit and began construction.  Excavating for the barns and parlor has progressed to the point where the builders are setting posts and preparing to set trusses.  The weather has held us up a few days but things are coming along well.  Follow the link above to see photos of the progress.  Check back often for continued updates and pictures.

We now have all approved permits for the contruction and operation of our facility.

Back in November of 2001 our nutrient management plan was approved by the Franklin County Conservation Board after being reviewed by the State Conservation Board.

We attended three Montgomery Township meetings.  The first meeting we introduced the project to the supervisors and the planning commission.  We then had our plans sent to the Franklin County Planning Commission.  After approval  by the county we attended the February township meeting and had the plan approved by the township planning commission  In the March meeting the plan was approved by the township supervisors with permission to grant a building permit.  We have an approved Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plan and a NDPES Storm Water Permit for Construction along with the Nutrient Management Plan.  On April 16, 2002 we recieved the final permit the Individual NDPES CAFO permit.
