We can partner with you!

At Mercer Vu Farms Inc. we work with many land owners to develop a plan that fits your needs.  We can structure leases to anything that you are comfortable with at a price that will give value to your land.  Leasing ground is not a one way street, it is something that hopefully leads to a long term, mutually beneficial relationship.

All ground treated the same.

All ground treated the same.

We don't distinguish rented or leased ground from ground we own. We treat all ground like it is our own. If you treat ground well it will treat you well... it doesn't matter if it's yours or ours it all gets treated the same.

We work together with you.

We work together with you.

Our goal in leasing ground is to work together with land owners to maximize what they can get off their land. Based off the farm and soil types and potential yields we work to pay the most competitive rents we can. You deserve a return on your ground and we can help.

No till always.

No till always.

Tilling the ground increases the chances for soil erosion. We no till plant everything. We never disc or plow. Occasionally we will do minimal vertical tillage to break compaction and smooth out fields.

We run floaters.

We run floaters.

All of our tractors and trucks (like the one in this picture) used for harvest have floatation tires on them to decrease compaction on your ground. Compaction causes the ground to become hard and robs yields. We work to minimize compaction with floatation tires.

We use yield maps.

We use yield maps.

We use yield maps at harvest to determine what we are actually getting off the ground. These maps can tell us problems that might need corrected to maximize yields.

We manage soil fertility.

We manage soil fertility.

We do what it takes to get soil fertility where it needs to be. This may include adding lime like in this picture. Seed, planting costs, spray programs can all be undermined by poor soil fertility so we get it right!

We pull regular soil samples.

We pull regular soil samples.

We pull soil samples on a regular basis to determine soil fertility. Our goal is to match nutrients applied with nutrients harvested. This keeps your ground in tip top shape!

We work with an agronomist.

We work with an agronomist.

We can not be professionals in everything so we work with professionals in their fields. All pesticide, herbicide and fertilizing programs are done under the watchful eye of our agronomist.

We prefer to use manure.

We prefer to use manure.

We prefer to use manure, liquid or solids because it is natural. Nothing is better for soil fertility and growing crops that all natural manure from our cows.

Nutrient management plan.

Nutrient management plan.

All manure is applied in accordance to an approved nutrient management plan. Nutrients are not applied haphazardly. They are only applied in accordance to an approved plan.

We plant cover crops.

We plant cover crops.

We plant cover crops on all of our ground. This builds organic matter, decreases erosion and it's the right thing to do!

Waterways decrease erosion.

Waterways decrease erosion.

We work hard to keep waterways established. This was a project where we replanted waterways and put straw bales in them to get the waterways established. Waterways keep the water where it should be.
